Seoul Metropolitan Wide Area Water Supply (6th Phase)

It is a large-scale water supply project that will go down in the history of Kunhwa. Kunhwa has left a stamp on Korean engineering history with this project that supplies more than 10 million tons of water per day to the metropolitan areas including Incheon, Pyeongtaek, Uijeongbu, and Goyang.

IRAQ Bismayah New City

The Bismayah New City Project (BNCP) in Iraq is the largest new city development project in the history of overseas construction in Korea. This project is to build a housing unit of 100,000 households (600,000 person) and 300 infrastructure facilities on a site of 18.3 million square meters of Bismayah City. This Project has a significant meaning that it is the first step of the Iraq rehabilitation project to solve the housing shortage problem after the war.

Sarulla Geothermal Power Plant

Sarulla Power Plant, built with a capacity of 330MW with a total project cost of $1.6 billion, is the world's largest single geothermal power plant project. This geothermal power plant draws 200°C of steam and heat from the basement and produces electric energy through turbines. It is supplied to 210,000 Indonesian households. This project is one of the major overseas projects of Kunhwa Plant Business Dept. and is regarded as a case of successful overseas business joint ventures with private companies.

Hapcheon Changnyeongbo is designed to increase flood control capacity in preparation for future drought caused by water shortages and climate change. At the same time, this project is being utilized as a local tourism resource by improving the surrounding landscape.

Chuncheon – Yangyang Expressway (Chuncheon JCT)

Seoul~Yangyang expressway is an expressway in Korea, connecting the cities of Seoul and Yangyang City. The Seoul ~ Chuncheon expressway construction is private funding section and Chuncheon ~ Yangyang expressway construction is public funding section. . The project of expressway construction was evaluated to minimize environmental damage by designing in consideration of nature. Kunhwa participated in the design project for 2 years successfully.

Pyeongchang Olympic Sliding Center

The Alpensia Sliding Centre is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track that is located in the Main Stadium of 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic. The track itself is 2,018 m long (to commemorate the Olympics). The venue is the first sliding centre in Korea, the second in Asia and 27th in the World, holding 11,000 attendants. The construction cost US$114.5 million.
